While out sketching , I was captivated by this scene. Hemmed in by ice, the boathouse waits in solemn silence forthe return of the sailors.

Returning from a friend’s art exhibit, I stopped by the Madawaska river to paint. The sun was warm, the snows of winter were receding and the river rushed by.

Marie and I spent a sunny afternoon in the gardens Sunday where Parisians enjoy leisure activities from puppet shows to beekeeping and strolls under the magnifi cent trees.

Based on a book of nursery rhymes from the 1920’s, this mural was created for the birth of Marie’s great niece, Lily Marie Rempel, born August 11, 2007.
